• at least 24
• US citizen, resident of KY for at least 2 years
• at least 100 petition signatures
• $200 filing fee.

Term of office: 2 years, January 2027-January 2029.

KY State Senate

Deadline to file statement of candidacy with the KY Secretary of State to run in 2026: January 9, 2026.

Requirements to run:

• at least 30
• US citizen, resident of KY for at least 6 years
• at least 100 petition signatures
• $200 filing fee.

Term of office: 4 years, January 2027-January 2031.
